Birth Stories

The Power of Birth Stories

When you are expecting, you should expect a lot of people to share the stories of their own birth experiences with you.  Some are positive and empowering and some are negative and frightening and might leave you doubting your ability to make the best choices for you or your baby.

During this impressionable time, it’s important for mothers to seek out stories that build confidence and help them make sense of the many choices they will be faced with.  Hospital or home?  Unmedicated or epidural?  OB, family practice doc, or midwife?  VBAC or repeat cesarean? Waterbirth or land birth?  The list goes on and on.  Here you will read stories of women who gave birth in Northwest Arkansas–some at the hospital, some at home, and some. . . somewhere in between.

We hope you enjoy this section and use it to make those important choices regarding how and where to birth.  We hope you gain a few pearls of wisdom from women who have given birth before you.  And we hope that you leave feeling a little bit more confident in your ability to make the best choices for you and your baby.
